Positions Available for Summer '08:

Camp Dark Waters is currently hiring male and female counselors, as well as a Head Cook and two Assistant Cooks.

All applicants should be at least 18 years of age.

Administrative Staff Training: June 9 - 14, 2008 (Mon. - Sat.)
Staff Orientation: June 14 - June 21, 2008 (Sat. - Sat.)

Counselors Job Description:

Counselors are responsible for daily supervision of campers at activities, meals, on work crews, and in cabins. Counselors must live in cabins with the approximately 8 campers and another counselor. Counselors are responsible for supervising campers in cabin clean-up, rest hour, and free time and for making sure that the campers emotional, mental, and physical needs are met. Counselors are encouraged to discuss any problems they are having with campers, program activities, etc. freely with the Camp Director, Assistant Director, Program director, or other members of the administrative staff.

Counselors receive three 48-hour off-duty periods during the camp season. Leaving and arrival times are coordinated with the Program Director.

Salary: $1000-1500 depending on age and experience. Salary includes room and board and workmans compensation insurance.

Head Cook Job Description

The Camp Cook is responsible for all aspects of the food preparation for the camp. The Cook plans the menus, orders food, cooks and serves the meals, storing all uncooked and cooked food, and keeping the kitchen clean and orderly.

The Camp Cook also supervised two assistant cooks in carrying out all of the above listed responsibilities.

The Camp Cook receives one day (24 hours) off duty each week.

Salary: $2500-$3500 depending on experience. Salary includes room and board and workmans compensation insurance.

Assistant Cook Job Description

The Assistant Cook is responsible for helping the Camp Cook in food prepartation, food storage, and keep the kitchen clean and orderly. The Assistant Cook shall follow the Cook's directions on all tasks.

The Assistant Cook is responsible for performing the Cook's duties on the Cook's day off.

The Assistant Cook is allowed one day (24 hours) off duty each week, not to coincide with the Head Cook's day off.
